Channel 4 reveals first look at Steve Buscemi in all-star sci-fi series Electric Dreams

Channel 4 has released the first sneak peek at Philip K Dick-based sci-fi series Electric Dreamsfeaturing Emmy and Golden Globe winner Steve Buscemi and BAFTA winner Julia Davis in a bluey hue.

The 10-part sci-fi anthology series is inspired by the iconic author’s short stories, which have been adapted by the likes of Battlestar Galactica‘s Ronald D Moore and The Night Manager‘s David Farr.

This episode, titled ‘Crazy Diamond’, will follow average man Ed Morris (Buscemi) as he is approached by a gorgeous synthetic women with an illegal plan that could change his life forever.

‘Crazy Diamond’ is chock full of talent, with BAFTA winner Joanna Scanlan and Westworldstar Sidse Babett Knudsen also appearing.

As for other episodes, Juno Temple and Moonlight actress Janelle Monae will be appearing in one titled ‘Autofac’, which takes place in a world where society’s collapsed.

It focuses on a massive factory that continues to pump out products automatically, operating according to the principles of consumerism – “humans consume products to be happy, and in order to consume continuously, they must be denied freedom of choice and free will”.

Just some of the other big names starring in the anthology series include Anna Paquin, Terrence Howard, Timothy Spall, Greg Kinnear, Bryan Cranston, Richard Madden and Lara Pulver.

Electric Dreams will be broadcast on Channel 4 later this year in the UK and by Amazon in the US.
